Barnsley Football Club Ltd

Barnsley FC traditional strip

Notes:

Turnover and pre-tax profit figures are in millions. Relegation and the collapse of ITV Digital led to the club being placed into administration in October 2002 by then owner John Dennis. Ten days before the club was due to close the then mayor of Barnsley, Peter Doyle made a takeover approach and his was confirmed by December 2002. In September 2003, former Leeds United chairman Peter Ridsdale announced that he had purchased the club alongside local businessman Patrick Cryne. Ridsdale ultimately stepped down in December 2004 and ownership was transferred to board member Gordon Shepard, with Cryne remaining in a prominent position at the club.
