"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."

What went wrong at Dundee

A Different League has posted a frank and revealing interview with Dundee chief executive Harry MacLean.  As well as giving some insights into the situation at Dundee, he also discusses Scottish football more generally which he see as 'a declining product'.

There are those who have taken pleasure at Dundee's downfall with a 'serve them right' attitude.  But MacLean points out that there were many Division 1 clubs who would have liked a white knight with investment.   With the benefit of hindsight, the model of a single benefactor picking up monthly shortfalls was flawed.   'The mistake at Dundee was not to get the money in advance and use it for the long-term benefit of the club and its structure.'
