Real Madrid headed the list of the top European football clubs ranked by income for season 2005-06, closely followed by Spanish rivals Barcelona. Italian side Juventus were placed third and Manchester United fourth. The top ten included two Spanish clubs, three Italian clubs, four English clubs and Bayern Munich of Germany.
