SPL clubs too reliant on owners

Edinburgh: The Scottish Premier League is very much the poor cousin of the English Premiership.   It made £16m from broadcasting and sponsorship in 2009 compared with the £29.5m earned by the bottom club in the English Premiership in 2007-8.   Even top clubs like Celtic have seen a reduction in turnover.   According to this interesting report clubs are too dependent on owners who could withdraw their financial support.
