Scottish football getting its finances in order


Scottish football is starting to get its finances in order according to the latest survey by a firm of accountants.   However, despite greater prudence, only one Premier League club expects to make a profit after player trading and depreciation.

Clubs are optimistic about the coming season, although falling attendances and inflexible player salaries are a challenge.   There is an appetite for summer football as a possible solution.   This is when it is played in the Orkney Islands.   The Parishes Cup was reaching a climax when I was there last week.
