Sainsbury's save Shrimpers
Southend United FC have been given another seven days by the High Court to pay £400,000 they owe the taxman. Supermarket giant Sainsbury's settled a £2.1m bill last November and they have £400,000 waiting in an account to pay this bill subject to the completion of negotiations on a joint project to build a retail park and stadium at Fossetts Farm. It will be Southend's third ground as they originally played at the Kursaal amusement park.
Sloppy Jounalism
Southend's third ground eh ? What about The Southend Stadium and New Writtle Street ? We started off at Roots Hall albeit around 30 feet higher than todays pitch, then moved to The Kursaal, then the Southend Stadium adn back to Roots Hall. we also spent a short while at Chelmsford City's New Writtle Street during the war due to bomb damage at the stadium. I make that 4 grounds and 5 different stadia, perhaps it might be an idea to do a little investigation in future.....
Sloppiness
Well, at least we spelt everything correctly...
