Reading F.C. were formed in 1871. Promoted to the Premier League after season 2005/06 - the first time the club had ever made the top league since its foundation in 1871. The club is chaired by John Madejski (who bought the club in 1991) . Since 1998 they have played at the Madejski Stadium (capacity: 24,244), on the outskirts of Reading. Prior to this they played at Elm Park for 102 years.
