Queens fans rally round

Queen of the South has been hit very hard by the winter weather in Scotland.   A number of key home fixtures were postponed, particularly over the festive season.   The club now has cash flow problems and may have to go part-time, although the chairman insists that there is no danger of them going into administration.   Fans have rallied round with a Facebook campaign and are looking into ways of raising funds.

One of the best inventive comments directed at a lino I have ever heard came from Palmerston Park: ‘Hey you, assistant referee, get yer mither ship tae beam ye back up fir laser eye surgery.’    (This comes from David Bennie’s odyessy round Scottish football grounds, A Season in Hell).
