No quick fix for Rangers

After reports had suggested that Rangers might be back in the Scottish Premier League in two years rather than three, Scottish Football Association Campbell Ogilvie has denied that there will be any special arrangements for the club enabling it to take a fast track back to the top.

Restructuring Scottish football is under discussion and one of the options on the table is to have three larger leagues rather than the current four.  However, the problems of Scottish football are more fundamental than tinkering with league structure can resolve.

Administrators Duff and Phelps are to receive £2.7m for their work at Rangers.   The decision in the 'big' tax case relating to offshore payments by the club is expected next month.
