New Brentford stadium approved

Brentford football club’s plans for a new stadium at Lionel Road were approved by council officials last night.

Hounslow Council planning officers approved the scheme for a new 20,000-seater stadium which includes up to 910 residential apartments on a site between Kew Bridge railway station and the M4. The apartments will help to pay for the project.

The news will see Brentford move from their current rather cramped home, Griffin Park to the 7.6 acre site on Lionel Road for the 2016-17 season
