Narrow majority back Hull name change

A narrow majority of Hull season ticket holders has backed plans to change the name of Hull City to Hull Tigers.   However, 60 per cent did not respond and some fans felt the question was biased because it linked the named change with the Allam family remaining in charge at the club.

In any case the Football Association is unlikely to reject its membership committee’s recommendation that the name change should not be approved.   However, the poll may give the Allam family a face saving reason for staying at the club rather than selling it as they had threatened.

In a statement The City Till We Die campaign have pointed out a number of ‘yawning deficiencies’ in the ballot and its conduct.
