NAC Breda in debt

NAC Breda is the latest Dutch club to hit financial problems.   It has debts of €3.6m after losing €4.2m last season.  A number of steps have been taken such as reducing the number of first team players and cutting bonuses.

Few Dutch clubs are in the black.  The Champions League has worked well for top clubs in countries such as England, Germany and Spain.  It has worked less well for smaller European countries like the Netherlands.   Dutch clubs are not the force they once were.
