The A-league of the future?

This interesting article by an Australian football fan looks forward over ten years into the future when the A-league has far more clubs and a different governance structure.  It's very interesting on the demographics which might underpin an expansion of the beautiful game down under.

I was a bit puzzled by the reference to a second club in Western Australia being 'as far north as Fremantle' which is south of Perth.   Most of the population in the state is concentrated in and around Perth and the second town of Bunbury (free standing town anyway) is a minnow by comparison.  Some twenty years ago I was in Bunbury in the Australian winter and came across a slightly forlorn looking football ground but beautifully situated by the Indian Ocean.   It must have been as windy to play on as Blackpool.
