Competitive imbalance is a big issue in La Liga, reinforced by the fact that clubs can sell their television rights individually.   However, this article suggests that fans might like it that way.  Two-thirds of fans in Spain ‘support’ one of the top two clubs, presumably in front of their television sets.

Similar arguments are heard that the dominance of the Premier League by a few top clubs makes it boring.  But that could be hardly said of this year’s title race.   And the fans keep turning up or paying their television subscriptions.
