"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."

Ipshits Town - AKA the Binmen

The club was founded in 1878 and plays at Portman Road ground with a capacity of 30,311. The club was taken over by businessman Marcus Evans in December 2007. He owns an 87.5% holding which he obtained by paying Norwich Union £6m for the club's £32m debt when the club went into administration leaving local creditors receiving less than 10 pence to the pound. Ipswich were the last club to be able to do this sort of manouevre without being penalised 10 points by the league authorities. Previous managers include Sir Alf Ramsey and Sir Bobby Ramsey.
