Founded in 1879, as Fulham St. Andrews Football & Cricket Club, the club plays at Craven Cottage ground (spectator capacity 25,700). Egyptian businessman Mohamed Al-Fayed bought the club for £6.25 million in summer 1997. In July 2013, Al Fayed sold the club to Shahid Khan, owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL franchise.
