"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."

Forest acquired by rich Kuwaitis

Nottingham Forest have been acquired by the Al Hasawi family, reputedly one of the richest in Kuwait. One of their first acts has been to send manager Steve Cotterill packing.

Perhaps not surprisingly, they get a good write up from Kuwaiti sources where they have invested heavily in the Al-Quadisa sports club.

It is significantly that a wealthy foreign investor is prepared to acquire a Championship club, albeit one with Premiership potential.
