Crystal Palace was formed in 1905 and plays its home matches at Selhurst Park (capacity: 26,309), where it has been based since 1924. The club went into administration in 1999 after owner Mark Goldberg appeared to overstretch himself in spending £23m on buying the club from former chairman Ron Noades. In July 2000, the administration period finally came to an end as Simon Jordan completed his takeover of the club, reforming the business as Crystal Palace 2000 Ltd.
