Birmingham City have issued a statement denying that the club is facing financial problems.  Last week former chairman Peter Pannu issued a statement claiming that they would have difficulty meeting a seven figure corporation tax bill.

It ia being reported that a new bid is being made for the club by former Swindon Town chairman Jeremy Wray.   He has submitted a formal offer, but has said that internal bickering within owners Birmingham International Holdings Limited (BIHL) could kill the deal.  The club has been for sale for two-and-a-half years.

There is still considerable uncertainty about whether BIHL really want to sell, what their long-term plans for the club are and whether largest shareholder Carson Yeung exerts any influence from his prison cell.
