Better football governance

Not surprisingly, the Football Association comes in for some criticism.   It is suggested that it has failed to discharge its responsibilities as a regulator by delegating too much authority to the leaves.

It is also suggested that as the FA is in effect a public authority it should be brought within the scope of the Freedom of Information Act.   That might lead to some interesting disclosures!   A club should also be required to disclose how many parent or holding companies are involved with and where they are located.

Of course, a remaining issue would be finding out who is involved in such companies when they are registered in an offshore location, but then part of the point of registering them there is to avoid such disclosures.
