Allardyce slams tax policy

Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that government tax policy is harming the Premier League.  Allardyce has urged Prime Minister David Cameron to change the government's tax policy because he believes it is hampering Blackburn's search for a new striker.


When asked about involvement in the transfer market, the Rovers manager replied: "We have tried very, very hard over the last eight weeks and had many, many disappointments. Most of the time it boils down to net salaries that people are asking for and the 50% tax bracket in this country.  If Cameron is listening, drop the tax bracket will you? Then we can get the best players in the world to play in the best league in the world."


It is doubtful whether David Cameron was listening.   Allardyce's message did not go down too well with fans either.   Radio 5 ironically reported an 'enormously sympathetic' response from texters.

The man Allardyce is clearly a clown. He must be joking. No one can be that stupid. Footballers are paid too much and stupid men like Allardyce let them get away with it. There are now over 100 clubs that have been in Administration or a similar insolvency event in the last 20 years and its because of incompetance in the boardroom and with managers. Its the tax payer that picks up the tab when Portsmounth et al go into Adminisration and HMRC get 10 pence in the pound back.
