Adders hit problems

Atherstone Town have announced that they are resigning from the Zamaretto League from the end of this season and dropping down a level in the non-league pyramid to join the Midland Alliance.  They probably have to travel as much as another Warwickshire club in the Zamaretto Premiership, Leamington, and attract much smaller gates.

However, their gates will presumably fall even more in the Midland Alliance.   As far as I understand the situation, there is one predominant investor at the Adders and the club is not a very attractive prospect for new investment.   Leamington, a phoenix club which re-appeared 13 years after the ground of AP Leamington was sold, runs as a community club with many shareholders and a prudent financial policy which has nevertheless seen them advance from the second tier of the Midland Combination to the Zamaretto Premiership.
