"If you want some accessible but informative insight into football then I suggest you couldn't do better than the Political Economy of Football website, which is not only intelligible but comes with the added bonus of being written by Addicks fan Wyn Grant."

AC Milan look for investors

AC Milan president Silvio Berusconi is looking for investors in the club from abroad, particularly it seems from China.   This is somewhat paradoxical as he also argues that there are too many foreigners in Italian football.

At one time it looked as if a 65 per cent or 70 per cent stake would be taken by Thai businessman Bee Taechaubo, but Berlusconi seems to be cooling on the whole idea of outside investors.   He rescued the club from bankruptcy in 1986.

The club claims to have 350 million followers across the world.  However, in many ways, the club are not what they used to be.   Any new investor would face a series of key challenges.
