Liverpool Court Date With Reebok - 08/10/2006

Liverpool have a trial date next April for their dispute with sportswear manufacturers Reebok International, but in the meantime the parties will attempt to settle their dispute by mediation, thus avoiding the costs of what could be a week long trial. The club claim they are entitled to £7 million that was withheld by Reebok at the start of the 2005-6 season when Liverpool were forced to delay the release of their new away kit because of continuing negotiations with Carlsberg. Reebok claims that the sum withheld represented its lost revenue, but Liverpool argues that the hold up had little or no impact, simply delaying sales.
