As well as a disappointing start to the season, Spurs have to deal from a dilemma arising from Uefa Cup draw against Slavia Prague. It means that they will face a club with whom they share a significant investor. Enic, which was touted as football's first conglomerate when it was first set up, holds a majority stake in Spurs. At one time it owned more than 95 per cent of the Czech club, but reduced that to 30 per cent so as not to break Uefa rules. Uefa regulations prevent two clubs entering the same competition if they have the same majority shareholders. Uefa has investigated Enic's involvement with Slavia and Spurs and decided to allow both clubs to take part in the tournament.
