Saints' Profits Slump - 06/09/2005

Southampton's pre-tax profits fell from £2.9m in the previous year to £200,000 in the 2004-5 financial year. With poor performances on the pitch, turnover fell by £5m to £44.8m. Worse is likely to follow. Chairman Rupert Lowe commented, 'The financial effects of relegation are very significant with our broadcasting income likely to drop by approximately £18 million.'
