Despite a statement by the Football Association advising that there is no need for panic, it looks increasingly unlikely that Wembley Stadium will be handed over by the scheduled date of 31 March. As a consequence, this season's FA Cup Final is again likely to be at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium. Contractors Multiplex have warned that the stadium may not be built on time. The Australian company has issued its fifth profit warning on the project, revealing that it is expecting losses of £71m. If it misses the completion deadline, it could face financial penalties amounting to A$33.5 million. The company has blamed legal problems with sub-contractors and rising steel prices for the problems in the 90,000 seat arena.
