Manchester United to Reveal Agent Payments - 26/09/2004

Manchester United are to publish details of payments to every agent involved in work at Old Trafford as part of their effort to improve standards of corporate governance. The club will go beyond expectations by publishing details of all fees paid to agent and will include payments that advised players on brokering contract extensions, as well as for brokering transfer deals. It is expected that the figures will reveal that an agent was paid £1m to arrange the £12.2m purchase of Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon. The information will accompany United's full year results which are expected to show operating profits flat at £50.6m.
